Privacy Policy

Overview
Your learning progress and settings stay on your device. Starting with version 1.1, Weave Chinese offers 100 free practice cards and an optional one-time full curriculum purchase. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase information to enable and restore that unlock. No app account is required.
Data We Use
- Learning data: review history, card state, progress, streaks, badges, and settings are stored locally and are not sent to RevenueCat.
- Purchase information: RevenueCat processes an automatically generated anonymous app identifier, product and transaction information, and purchase entitlement status. We use this information to validate purchases, restore access, prevent purchase fraud, and understand purchase activity. We do not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, or learning history.
- Apple Ads measurement: versions with Apple Ads attribution enabled send an Apple AdServices attribution token to RevenueCat. Apple returns advertising attribution information, such as campaign, ad group, and keyword identifiers, which RevenueCat associates with the anonymous app identifier and purchase activity to help us measure our advertising. This does not send your study history or collect your advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Payment details: Apple handles payment. We do not receive your payment card or bank details.
- Support: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include so we can respond.
Service Providers
Purchases use Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. See Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's privacy policy for information about their practices.
Storage and Sync
Learning progress and settings are stored on your device; the app does not provide learning-progress cloud sync. Purchase records are processed by Apple and RevenueCat to maintain and restore access. Restoring a purchase does not restore learning progress.
Tracking and Advertising
The app does not display ads, sell data, or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. RevenueCat provides purchase analytics; we do not include a separate advertising or behavioral analytics SDK.
Permissions
Audio playback is used for listening practice. The app does not request microphone access.
Children's Privacy
The app does not require a name, email address, or account to study. Purchases are handled through Apple. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support, contact us so we can address it.
Security
Local data benefits from the protections of your device and operating system. Keep your device up to date and use a passcode.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can reset learning progress in Settings or delete the app to remove local app data. Deleting the app does not delete Apple's or RevenueCat's purchase records or cancel a purchase. Purchase records are retained to support access, restoration, and applicable recordkeeping requirements. Contact us about purchase-data or support-data deletion requests; some records may need to be retained for these purposes.
